  1. Dear forum users,

For future features in Living France magazine we are looking for case studies based in the following areas:

Lot: between Cahors and Figeac or around the Cele Valley.

Tarn - in north of the Tarn - Albi, Cordes sur Ciel.

For each piece we'd like to interview someone who has a house in the area, and either lives there full-time or part-time. We want to know why you chose that area, what your life is like and how you spend your time. You'll also be willing to submit an image or two of yourself for the feature.

If you're interested, please get in touch by emailing [email protected] and tell us a bit about you. We will arrange a mutually convenient time to telephone you and conduct an interview that shouldn't take more than 20 minutes.

We look forward to hearing from you,

    Eleanor

  2. Hello there,

For a forthcoming article in Living France we'd like to interview a case study who uses the chèque emploi to supplement their income. This would involve a brief telephone interview with one of our journalists and if possible we'd like you to provide a head and shoulders shot for the magazine article.

If you are interested in taking part, please email me: [email protected] with a brief explanation of your situation ie where you live, what you do and how it works for you.

    Many thanks,

    Eleanor

  3. Hello there,

For a forthcoming feature in Living France I'm looking for a case study who lives/works, rents or owns property in a town or village along the Voie Verte between Beaune and Macon (you don't have to live right by it, but within, say,  30km of it!). I'd like to find out why you chose to spend time in this area, what you do, why you came here in the first place. The interview will be either by email or telephone (at your convenience) and you'll be happy to submit a high-resolution image of yourself to accompany the feature.

If you are interested in being part of the feature, please email me [email protected] with some details about yourself.

    Many thanks,

    Eleanor

  4. Dear users,

    This may be of interest:

The Telegraph newspaper has recently launched an Awards scheme entitled the Best of British Awards, designed to identify and reward the leading British Clubs, Pubs, Restaurants and Shops around the world, culminating in an awards ceremony in London in April. British expatriates are encouraged to nominate and vote for their favourite British establishments across the globe.

Winners will be chosen at a country and, finally, a world level. The results will be used to compile an annual listing of the world’s top British establishments, which will be featured online at www.telegraph.co.uk/expat, in The Telegraph international edition, and in the Travel section of the Saturday Daily Telegraph in the UK.

People can nominate places and vote in the Best of British awards – or the BoBs - by visiting www.telegraph.co.uk/expat. It may be a favourite bar serving English bitter and live Premier League football; a shop that stocks pork pies, Marmite, Cheddar cheese and Kit Kats; or a restaurant featuring steak and kidney pudding followed by spotted dick and custard.

The six award categories are: Best British Shop; Best British Restaurant; Best British Pub/Bar; Best British Social Club; Best British Business Club; and Best British Sporting Club.

Everyone that registers will automatically be entered into a prize draw ti win a pair of return flights from anywhere in the world to London.

    Best wishes,

  14. Dear all,

I've just received a message from LD Lines requesting I post the following statement:

The Norman Voyager ferry, whose services between Portsmouth and Cherbourg are currently not operating, is not owned or operated by LD Lines, but is now chartered to Celtic Link Ferries and has been since September this year. The Norman Voyager is also painted in the colours of its new operator Celtic Link Ferries.

    Many thanks,

    Eleanor
  15. Dear Forum Users,

Among all the doom and gloom in the news at the moment, we want to hear some positive news about why you love France.

If you live in France tell us what you love about your life, what is it that made the move worthwhile?

If you’re thinking of buying a property, or have started the purchase process, let us know what keeps you motivated, why you’re doing it and what you love about France.

If you visit France regularly, what makes it a great holiday destination? Is it the food? The wine? Maybe it's the villages, or the people?

Whatever your reason for falling in love with France, we’d love to hear from you so email your comments along with your name to [email protected]

Looking forward to hearing from you,

    Eleanor O'Kane

  16. Dear Forum Users,

For an upcoming issue of Living France magazine I am looking for case studies for a news item regarding the changes in the health-care laws in France. If you have been affected by the rulings - perhaps it has forced you to postpone your move to France - and would be willing to share your experiences with a journalist, please email me: [email protected] stating your situation and how the rulings have affected you. If we decide to use you as a case study it should only involve brief correspondence by telephone or email and will not take up too much of your time.

Thank you and I look forward to hearing from you.

    Eleanor
