Varennes

Hi We were booked to go on that crossing on 23rd Oct but having read the weather reports decided to change to the tunnel. Yes, it did cost us, but at least we arrived in a fit state to continue our journey. Incidentally, we had an incredibly good return crossing on Oct 30th so you never can tell with the Channel. We will definitely be booking with speedferries again as no-one can even touch their prices. PS hope you recovered to enjoy your holiday.

There is a good vet at Selles sur Cher. It is Dr. Carre (the 'e' has an acute accent) Telephone 0254975326 The location of the surgery Take the road from Selles sur Cher in the direction of Tours. As you are leaving the main town area you will pass the railway station on the right. The vet's surgery is not far past here, also on the right. It is a modern, detached, single storey building.

We have guests going to stay in our house who have asked if there is an internet cafe anywhere nearby.I have checked on the net but can't find anything. Does anyone know of one around the Chateauroux, Romorantin, Chabris, Valencay area please?

We met our mairie's secretary during the first week of owning our property.She was very pleased to have a chat with us as we were the first English family in the village. Last summer we took several photos of the village fete which we made into a collage and framed it as a gift for them. It hangs on the wall in the office. We haven't need permission for any buliding works etc yet although we might be soon, to renovate the second house on our property.

Don't know if it's close enough but I know of two brocantes, one in Romorantin and one near St Aignan.
