  1. ...............or maybe..........just maybe, this whole situation is a finely manipulated scenario. After all, the best way to keep people in check is by giving them something to fear. Just my 2 cents......
  2. Can anyone tell me whether blank firers are legally to own/buy/bring into France? When I make the move to the South next year, my partner and I will be bringing our daft as a brush pet cocker spaniel that I also use as a gun dog when I've gone hunting in the UK/Germany. He's well trained and is well accustomed to gunfire, however we are also planning on getting another pup spaniel and wanted to know if I can bring over or buy a blank firer in France just to get the new 'un used to being a gun dog. I have a UK spec blank gun (Bruni) that only ever gets used in the UK and also a blank gun here in Germany (euro spec ekol voltran that stays permantly in Germany as euro spec is illegal in the UK). I've looked via search and only seem to find information relating to actual hunting. Course I might not be using to right search words.....
  3. Doesn't really matter who votes/doesn't. Voting only really benefits politicians. We, the masses will continue to get screwed from dusk till dawn.
  4. Is there not a Law that states exhaust noise must not exceed a maximum db level? As an example I'm pretty sure there's a sort of UK law on exhaust noise levels, but definately know a rider can get done by the rozzers for having loud pipes as the noise can be seen as being in breach of the Anti Social Behavior Act - as happened to a friend. He wasn't mucking about, just had loud pipes on his R1.
  5. We're planning on having 2 seperate week long visits to the South before I re-deploy overseas with my unit. I get 10 days leave in mid May before I start my pre-deployment training and then another 14 days towards the end of september. On both of those occasions I'll be in Germany so our plan is for my girlfriend to fly over to me in Germany, and then from there we drive down to the South of France. It'll be a canny long drive so the first and last days will effectively be wasted on driving, but we'll still be left with a good 5 or 6 days of getting out and about and seeing whats what.
  6. So does that mean if my own UK licence doesn't expire until 2019, I can still keep using that and then exchange it for a French licence thereafter, or am I legally required to exchange it for a French licence after living there for X number of years regardless?
  7. Many thanks for the advice Pickles. That link certainly puts us in the right direction. All this time we've been googling using english search terms when we should have been using french based search terms!! We still have a mountain of things to still check out and plan but this forum is proving to be an absolute gold mine for information!
  8. Hi all. Looking for a bit of advice. Next year my girlfriend and I are planning on living in the South (after I finish my final overseas "6 months summer holiday" on her Maj's service and then leaving the forces), preferably within a few miles of the coastal area. She's a big beach fan! Anyhoo, initial googling for estate agents and lettings have come back zilch. Initially we're looking for a 12 month let as we'd rather rent for a year to get to know the areas before deciding whether to commit fully and move from the UK permantly. Can anyone recommend or point me in the direction of letting agents within the coastal regions of the South?
