1.
The grate in my insert has cracked all the way across and I would like to know where to find a replacement. I do not know what the French call it. Dimensions 600 x 270. I am in 24, but don't mind looking on-line. Thanks in advance.
If this is what you are meaning, the French call it a "porte buche". I found one for my Godin on Leboncoin easy enough. Hope this helps.
2. What does Minitel actually do? For the first time I have a charge of 2euros+ for a Minitel use on my Orange internet monthly bill. The only thing I can think of is that I have a DNS update which is actioned from time to time when the IP changes. Could this be the charge?

4.
Maybe stating the obvious, but you have removed the shipping locks?
Good point, I had exactly the same problem with the machine vibrating violently - it even loosened the worktop! Fault - forgot to remove the transit bolts.
5. Yes, thats correct. The payment card must be registered to the UK.
6.
I can see that if you were ordering perishable food items then this service may not be for you. However as someone that lives in an area that is not served by any of the "shopping delivery" companies due to lack of demand, a company that will accept deliveries and re_expidite them to any address in France for £25 up to 30kg is very interesting and i will be saving their web site, no such thing as bad publicity etc. There are companies that will send parcels to France for a similar price, these are OK if you have a friend or family to recieve the parcel that you order and then wait around for the collection that you have arranged, for me a company that offers that service at no extra cost has found a good niche in the market. I am not sure if you can have goods delivered to companies like Parcelsplease for them to forward on to you but I have some experience of parcel sorting depots, they are geared up to recieve on or more trunk artics a day from their hub in the morning, offload the goods onto their own vans and deliver, anything that does not follow this closely monitored route like bags of shopping or my parcels which i would collect myself as they were behind my office had a tendancy to get buried, lost or to have walked, i would be happier with a semi detached house taking the initial delivery. For the price they are proposing i would not expect them to recieve bags of shopping and then repack them for transport in the way that a chilled delivery vehicle drop off service would, horses for courses I guess.
I never said anything about chilled or perishable goods. As for £25 for 30kg of delivery weight, probably not bad if re-packed in a proper box and not packed with old roof insulation. I can send you the pics of the box the way it was received, if you like, and you can maybe decide if you would like to keep the details of this website and have your shopping delivered to a semi detached house to be packed by chancers!
7. Yes Sunday driver, thats them ..www.expatexpress.co.uk. I forgot to add that they actually used pieces of old fibreglass wall insuation (45mm to be precise) to "pack" the shopping. I was gobsmacked..
8. In the absence of any feedback, I gave them a go and wish I had`nt. They do not deliver in their little yellow vans as per their website. Shopping is delivered to a semi detached house where it is thrown in a single walled old cardboard box, not even packed properly, and then sent by carrier. 30% of my shopping was either ruined, damaged or unusable. ExpatExpress refused to pay for the damage. So, that is my experience of them.
9. Just an update, I put the kittens on leboncoin and had 43 replies in the hour after the ad went online. Its just a matter of sifting through who will be suitable to have them. I was very surprised, I thought there would be little interest, although I will be making sure that it is not just  a case of having a kitten for Xmas !
10. Last week we found 3 kittens, two tabby and one black and white fluffy thing! in our barn. They are about 2 months old and very friendly, affectionate, and love being handled. We are now feeding them and had them de-wormed and flea`d. If you would like to come and see them with a view to taking one or more, or would like some photo's please let me know. Dep 49 nr Saumur.
11. No, there isn`t. If you phone the Britline number though, they will gladly tell you what the rate is at the moment.
12. Fourthed!!.......always helpful and efficient...sometimes makes you think you are not in France!. Seriously though, the Britline staff have been a great help in facilitating our finances and insurances since we arrived here. Highly recommended.
13. Just an update re my situation. Following an urgent email of complaint sent directly to DWP a few days ago, stating they had made an error...this evening I received an apologetic call from the manageress of the Exportability team. Apparently I received the wrong information from the DLA Helpline, and an automatic payment "error" had resulted in my DLA payment being "unsent". The manageress had no idea where the DLA customer service person received information that the DLA payment had been suspended, neither did she know anything about any 6 month rule or any National Insurance issue! The missing payment will be paid ASAP. Thanks to TonyFDordogne for his assistance and apologies, but Facebook is just a bit beyond me!
14. My 4 weekly DLA benefit has not been paid this month. I am at a loss to understand why this has happened. No letter, no notification and no warning. When I contacted the UK DLA benefit helpline yesterday, they were just as vague. I am wondering if anyone has experience or information regarding this "6 month rule" that the helpline person talked about. Basically, I exported my DLA benefit (care) when I moved over here 7 months ago. I received the confirmatory letter from DWP 2 months later (June) saying that I remain entitled to the DLA Care payment and this would continue to be paid whilst I am living here in France. I continued to receive my 4 weekly payment. In December, there was no payment, so I called the DLA helpline and was told the DLA payment was suspended as the DWP would only pay the first 6 months whilst I was living in France. I told them the confirmatory letter I received in June made no reference to any 6 month "rule", neither was there anything I could see on the Internet which would confirm this. The helpline lady told me the payments were suspended after 6 months for them to look at my National Insurance contributions, which I presumed they had already done so to decide whether the DLA was exportable in the first place! There is now no telephone number available to speak to the Exportability Team who deal with this and the helpline lady refused to put me through to them, saying that I would have to probably wait several months for a decision. My wife receives Carers Allowance based on the fact I receive DLA and this has continued. Does anyone have any knowledge of this? Any advice would be appreciated.
