The police did their softly softly approach this time because of there bully boy tactics at the g20 gatherings earlier in the year when a completely innocent guy was hit repeatedly with a baton and ended up in the morgue and the copper who hit him is still in the force . I think everyone is entitled to protest at these draconian cuts caused by succesive goverments tory and labour, but I would never accept people resorting to violence to make a point.

Hi just an update my transponder has arrived from tolltickets, I did not need a french bank account and the only stipulation is that you have to specify your registration number of your car and the transponder is linked to it so it can`t be swopped to another vehicle until you register it with them. There is a company called Tolltickets ( http://www.tolltickets.com ) they are based in germany and they do the doofers for the haulage firms, they can now do a doofer for private motorists its a liber-t box you don`t need a french bank account you just have to register with them, the only downside is that they charge you 35 euros per year for the doofer plus a one off charge of 7 euros to activate it . Also reading previous posts about the french firm ALIS I dowloaded the contract and gave it to a french speaking lady at my school she said reading the terms and conditions it does state you need a french bank account OR one recognised in france, she mentioned Barclays H,s,b,c,. and Banco popular, its all very confusing as due to the fact I usualy drive through france to spain 4 times a year Iwould like one of these doofers. They (l.d.lines) should have left the norman arrow on the dover boulogne service in tandem with a conventional ferry as the new dock area at boulogne was perfectly suited for her. On the other hand when they removed the norman arrow and started to use the norman bridge ( yes the one that is now on the france / spain run ) they had all manner of probs with difficulties berthing this boat , this is probably the main reason this service has been dropped due to endless waits to embark and disembark , one journey I did on the norman bridge took almost 3 hours in total instead of the publishe 1hour 35 mins. casa99.

Hi peeps new here tonight I wish you luck with this new route, L.D.lines took over the Dover Boulogne route from speed ferries when they went bust , really messed people about by using 5 different boats in the space of 6 months so people lost confidence in them. The boat they are using now was previously on the Dover Boulogne route, I wish you the best of luck. casa99
