1. Used vinegar and salt on bindweed laughed and grew -:) hence agri strength Glyso. OH uses a power washer each spring to clean outdoor areas from moss/ staining over winter-patio, glass pool fence, stone table and benches back to new every year. Would need some amount to vinegar to do what a jet washer does.
2. I hear you loud and clear f1steveuk and do agree to an extent, I do know that if you have a complying cover or fence & gate securing your pool, your deemed no fault if a 5 yr old gets in your pool and dies. Though I can't remember the exact time but you must respond to a pool alarm going off before a certain time elapses. I did say our French neighbours don't comply with their pools but they don't seem to bother and just shrug. Don't think there are any grey areas, you must have one of the 3 complying methods to stop a 5 yr old or under to gain access to your pool. We have grand children 1,3,4,5,6 what they do is eye opening when told to wait for a minute before we go into the pool. 3yr old will push a patio chair up to the gate and try and open it. Grrrr Did you check out the link I gave you for a fence, not too bad I thought?
3.
The fence is part of the garden fencing, and to fence the pool to "standard" would costs as much as the house did.
A little exaggeration there OP. Rough estimate would be €40 per meter + gate. Going by worldofpools.com I do know what your saying though. Our neighbour has no fence alarm or cover for his pool just shrugs when mentioned. All off my immigrant friends/neighbours who have pools comply with their rules. Honestly to answer your Q's No you are not complying with an alarm and not being there, but you know that. Regarding them being charged with trespassing possibly Yes if they lived if they died NO. You would be €40,000 poorer. Would I take a similar risk No. We have a glass fence and gate but if my budget was stretched, I would opt for the one in the link I provided. Edit - In the 14 yrs we have had our pool not once have we had a visit re compliance.
4. Oh dear hope not. I buy mine at the local Agri's which is higher strength that the bricos sell.
5. You should never click on an email link to anything, go via the www of the company concerned, banks paypal etc. Renting can bring in a good amount if income, but lets not get into location et all. If you are an off site owner or don't live local to your rental, best to have a good manager in place who can keep an eye on your rental and nip things on the bud. Agree with nomoss, in the main it's the french who try to over occupy in my experience.
6. So sorry to hear of your troubles, would it be possible for you to arrange your bank hearing close to the day of your court hearing, wouldn't be €2000 for flights and a few nights hotel stay I would hope. Assuming your in the UK appologies if I assumed wrongly. Do hope the outcome is a positive one for you, sounds like they know their way round the system using underhand tricks.
7.

Sir Chris Hoy was amazing a true gentleman!  Hated the South African swimmer who boasted that he cheated, won and got away with it. Good luck to the rest of the GB team in the forthcoming events. Missed that, shocking not in the Olympic spirit at all. Is there a link to it please?
http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/olympics-fourth-place-medal/cheater-swimming-gold-medalist-admits-taking-illegal-kicks-162450535--oly.html
Thank you Nick :-)

9.   Such a joy to watch IMO, been watching sports I don't usually. Hearing the back stories from some competitors is just so inspiring to hear.
10. Thanks Clair for your reply. Didn't realise it had to be their machines, we were refused trying to take out €300 for the second time in a week from another banks ATM. That would explain it.
11. Is there a cash withdrawel limit that you can take out of ATM's from you La Poste account without having to go into a branch to make a cash withdrawel from your account? Thanks
12. According to her blog their struggling money wise, no regular income hand outs from her parents for her son  (by a previous relationship) Won't be reading further. All done for money I think.
13.
Doesn't seem to matter whether they find them or not as they ask for no owners on site ;-)
First time we've been asked if we live on site and found out why, seems that they had a bad experience of an on site owner who would come into their garden most days. He cut the grass 4 times they were told that they had soul use of the pool, he would use the pool every day of their week stay. That would put me off as well. Appreciate not all on site owners would do this, suppose it's a case of once bitten...................
14. My enquirer has decided to come end of September when we can accomodate them. I'm a happy bunny.
