1. Saturday 7th and Sunday 8th April 2012 Come along and meet the team, visit the Rescue Centre and enjoy a cuppa at the same time! Children's activities and tombola, sale of quality used items (bit of a Vide grenier), jewelry and many cat-related items. We look forward to seeing you there! Cats arrive at Chats du Quercy Rescue and rehoming centre following owner abandonment, death, or hospitalization. We do our very best for them, care for them, making sure that they are completely ready to find new families. The cats are (depending on their age) tested FIV and FeLV, sterilised, vaccinated, identified, and they all have one thing in common: they are waiting for a better life.... They are waiting for kind families that will give them the love and attention they deserve. Give them a second chance!
2. If there is one thing that each of the cats in Chats du Quercy Rescue centre have in common, it is that they are all looking for love. Some of our cats catch the eye of potential adopters more quickly than others. However, through no fault of their own, some stay for that little bit longer. We always make sure we give them all the love, affection and one-to-one TLC they deserve, but nothing can beat that loving feeling of a family of their own. Scarlett is a stunning Calico cat, with a heart of gold. Abandoned in the streets to fend for herself, she is looking for her own special love. She is a very affectionate cat who purrs from the first contact. See more on our adoption pages www.chatsduquercy.com Scarlet née 01.01.2011 femelle isabelle numéro d'identification 250268710109805
3. They both have really bold and unusual colourings and their characters have really come to the fore in just a week. They are relaxed now, and just looking for cuddles. Quite big chunky cats too - not overweight, but muscular and very 'teddybear' like!!!
4. These two absolutely adorable and inseparable boys of 18 months old were rescued as kittens. Found with other tiny kittens in a plastic bag, at the bottom of a 2 meter pit where they'd been thrown with a bag of cat biscuits. They were rescued and placed in what was thought to be a permanent home. Unfortunately for Claude and Max, their new owner displayed no such loyalty to them when she moved away, abandoning them with a girl who already has 13 cats! At her wits end, she turned to us for help. Claude and Max are great friends and need to stay together. Claude has gorgeous deep ginger colouring and is instantly a little more outgoing than Max,but both are very cuddly cats Max has some Siamese in him, with stunning blue eyes! You can see their photos and adoption conditions on www.chatsduquercy.com Max né 01.10.2010 male tigré/croisé siamoise aux yeux bleus numéro d'identification 250268730026055 Claude né 01.10.2010 male roux numéro d'identification 250268730025964

7. It shouldn't be a question, more of an obligation of kindness towards your pet. With spring around the corner, this is the time of year to make it a necessity to have your cat or dog neutered. Did you know that... ? In France, it is estimated that 4500 dogs and 8000 cats are born every day. MILLIONS of dogs and cats are put to sleep every year! This is a worldwide problem. As a French registered charity, Chats du Quercy often hears comments from British people that we treat our animals better than any other nationality, aren’t we a nation of animal lovers after all? Rest assured there is just as much cruelty and just as many animals abandoned in the UK as in France or any other country. The difference being, here there is a lack of infrastructure here to help pick up the pieces. You only have to look at these links to just 3 of the UK’s most well known animals protection charities, to see the true extent of the problem over there too! http://www.cats.org.uk/cat-care-neutering http://www.rspca.org.uk/allaboutanimals/pets/general/neutering/casestudies http://www.bluecross.org.uk/1957-2863/neutering.html Be a responsible owner and have your cat neutered (both males and females) between four and six months of age. Please don't add to the number of unwanted animals in France too! www.chatsduquercy.com

9. All they want for Christmas is a forever home. “Chats du Quercy” have some magnificent cats in our care who want nothing more than to be part of a loving family. During December, we are launching “A Home for Christmas and for Life” – a cat adoption drive to find permanent homes for the cats in our care. Please help us by sharing news about our cats for adoption with your friends and family. Fifi, a beautiful 2 year-old tortie, abandoned because her young owner has Multiple Sclerosis, and is no longer able to live on her own. The new accommodation she is staying in would not allow her to take her cats. Learn more about Fifi and why she would make a great companion on our adoption pages. Tiny little Cristal and Jasmin arrived at “Chats du Quercy” two gorgeous white kitten sisters. Found abandoned on the streets with their chances of survival small, over the coming winter months. 11. Very sadly, a young lady has had to confide her lovely cats to Chats du Quercy. She has MS and can no longer live alone. Totoche is a big cat, not unlike a main coon. Fifi, his sister is full of life and very loving. Nono, a little older is perturbed at having no home or family, she is gorgeous and just wants cuddles, a very affectionate cat. All are negative FIV/FeLV, neutered, vaccinated and microchipped Totoche mâle à poil long, tigré et blanc né 02/06/2009 numéro d'identification 250268730013601 Nono femelle tricolore née 15/08/2003 numéro d'identification 250268730013624 Fifi femelle tricolore née 02/06/2009 numéro d'identification 250268720118170 All used to living with a dog Contact Chats du Quercy on 05 63 94 73 97 for more info www.chatsduquercy.com
12. Claude is a gorgeous, cuddly rather big (main coon like) siamese cross. He is about 7/8 years old and is a real cuddly bear! Left behind when this owner was admitted to hospital and then to a retirement home, he is really missing company. Judging by his behaviour, he has been chased away by people a few times but he is so, so adorable. Tested negative FIV/FeLV, neutered, vaccinated and microchipped 250268730010742 You can see lots of photos of him, along with adoption conditions, on our website www.chatsduquercy.com or call us on 05 63 94 73 97
13. This little kitten was found wandering around in the middle of a busy town at just 6 weeks old, on her own, no one to care for her. She is so, so cuddly and just wants to be with you. Very calm little girl who has her moments of play but is quite happy just to be cuddled. 14. Serena is a very friendly cat and loves affection; she can soon be tempted into play. Like most cats, she can be nosey and likes to know what is going on. She will move around depending on where you are, to try and grab your attention Serena has been in the Rescue Centre now for some time and volunteers struggle to understand why. She is a young (1 year old), very sociable cat who enjoys company and would love a new home before Christmas. Please don't glance past her; she might just be the cat for you. Here she is in action! http://s838.photobucket.com/albums/zz305/QuercyCats/Cat%20antics/ Serena Microchip ID 250268720019020 A few words about adopting from Chats du Quercy - Adopting a cat can be a really great and rewarding way of finding your new companion. Our cats have a lot to give to a new owner and they all deserve a warm and loving home. All the cats that come to Chats du Quercy are given a full MOT before they are put up for adoption. They are: • Vaccinated, • Microchipped • Treated for parasites • Tested negative FIV/FeLV and neutered (if old enough) • Benefit from a weekly veterinary visit • Have contact for play and socialisation 3 times a day from different volunteers, to ensure the cats are in the best health possible • Our commitment to both you and your newly adopted cat does not stop when you leave us.

18. Unforeseen circumstances mean that help is required to look after 3 cats for most of the month of November. Ideally the cats should stay in their own home which is in the wonderful medieval village of St Antonin Noble Val, dept 82. If you can help either by giving daily feeds or living in during this time please contact Chats du Quercy for telephone number of the person concerned Many thanks

Abandonned a while ago, Lillie gave birth virtually on the the day she came to our Rescue Centre. She cared for her babies and they have all found superb homes. 21. Gemini is a most gorgeous looking pale ginger and white kitten of 5 months old. He is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped – no. 250268730001301. He was born to a feral cat and ‘rescued’ by an old lady who then kept him and his sister cooped up in a very small cage for 2 weeks. His sister has found a home as she became very cuddly with our volunteer’s help but poor Gemini, although never ever nasty, is really nervous and keeps being passed by. He does enjoy being stroked and loves playing with string tied to the end of a bamboo cane. Could you be the right person to give Gemini the space he needs to be himself? Please contact Lynn at Chats du Quercy 05 63 94 73 97 You can see just how gorgeous he is by his photos on our website www.chatsduquercy.com
