  1. Thank you to the EWSG for their support in helping me find a loving home for this little kitten. I know she has found the loving home she deserves
  2. Having travelled about 50km in the engine bay of a car, this little kitten deserves a home!! She (we think!) is about three months old and a beautiful grey colour with blue eyes. She is eating and drinking well and appears to be in good health after her exciting adventure. We think she is semi wild but is enjoying lots of cuddles and affection. Unfortunately we can not keep her as we have a "cat hating" dog, and this little courageous kitten deserves better. If you know anyone that could give this little kitten a home, please let me know. We are on the borders of the Aude and the Ariege
  3. Great photos, Alex looks very happy. Thanks for sharing them with us. What is it with SPA dogs and opening doors? Both Albi and Popeye do this too!!!
  4. Thanks for letting us know how Alex is getting on. Well done Alex and Well done Merlin for all your patience and kindness. Look forward to some photos.......if you get time!!
  5. Glad to hear the dogs arrived safely and are settling in.Sounds like Alex knows when he is well off, lets hope Jojo learns very quickly and stops christening the furniture. That was one of Albi's tricks.....Well good luck to you all, hope the vets visit goes well. Hugs to our two legged and four legged friends!!
  6. PS. I would like to donate to Alex's upkeep, is there somewhere I can send a cheque? (would rather not go down the pay pal route)
  7. Thanks Merlin and Mr Merlin! Alex couldn't find a kinder, caring home to go to. Great news about little Scramble too.Two lots of good news in a day Thank you, Thank you, thank you. Good Luck to you all
  8. We've got everything crossed for a good recovery for Alex .... and for you to stay strong Rowan. I appreciate how hard this is for you and all ther other dedicated volunteers
  9. Well done you guys. I have shared this with all my friends on facebook, hopefully to raise the profile of all the good work that is going on but more importantly to find these lovely dogs deserving homes. Well Done and a great start to the New Year!
  10. I dont want to detract from the posts still trying to find homes for deserving dogs, but I do feel I would like to say a very big thank you from all the dogs that have been re homed this year to all the great folks out there who work continually to find new loving homes for them. As I write this Albi is laying on the sofa in front of the log fire and it makes me stop and think what his two last christmas's were like in the SPA. I appreciate the work of rehoming dogs is never ending and will never go away, but those of you out there who work so hard for these vulnerable animals, should give yourselves a pat on the back for the amount of dogs you have helped this year. Thank you to all of you who have played your part in finding new homes for these deserving dogs by either offering to rehome a dog, foster a dog, help transport the dogs, or using your contacts. A Heart felt thank you to you all from all the lucky ones. Happy New year to you all
  11. I dont think it is a good time especially for English folks to commit to having dogs, as so many seem to go back to the UK for Christmas I can understand why you feel down, but can you remind me how many dogs you have helped find a new loving home this year? Thank you from all the lovely dogs that you have found homes for this year
  12. That's BRILLIANT news!! Well done and thank you to all those involved
  13. I can only say the same as WJT. Thanks to you and your husband for the love, patience and support you're giving to Scramble. He's one lucky lad living with you. Thanks for sharing the photos x
  14. Well done Merlin. Please give Scramble a big hug from us. You're doing a great job.Thank you so much, look forward to seeing the next lot of photos........I know you have alot on your plate at the moment.........!
  15. I can only emphasise what Debs has said. Belle is the most affectionate, loving, well behaved dog I have met. I have been lucky enough to walk her a few times at the SPA and she is perfect on the lead. She is fine with cats, children and other dogs. She will make a perfect companion for someone, who likes a smaller gentle type dog. Please help us save her from going back to the SPA......
  16. Oh what lovely photos. I think little Scramble has found the best home ever!! It looks like not only have you made him welcome but your dogs have accepted him too!! Please dont apologise for the epistle, it's great to hear how he's getting on. I'm sure there will be highs and lows in Scambles and your lives, but where would he find a better caring home? We're all with you xxxx
  17. Absolutely AMAZING. Well done Rowan for all your sheer determination. Thank you Merlin for offering to foster him.
  18. Popeye and Sasha left the SPA yesterday afternoon. Thank you to all those who offered to foster Popeye whilst his passport was being sorted. He is going to be looked after by a very kind couple in Puivert, with the new owner popping down as when she can. Hopefully Sasha will come down at christmas to spend a few days with Popeye. The new owner is absolutely amazed by the support that has been shown by so many kind people down here. I would also like to say a very big thank you to all the very kind people who offered to foster Popeye. Whilst I know Popeye is going to a loving temporary home, having spoken to Rowan yesterday there are more dogs looking for foster homes. I also believe there is a lady who is trying to set up a network of foster homes, which is a brilliant idea.Well once again thanks so much to everyone that has supported us in finding these two a lovely home. I'm sure the new owner will join the forum when she gets back to the UK next week and photos will follow
  19. Yes thanks Merlin. I have passed all the messages on to the new owner and she is making contact with all those that have offered their help.Thank you to everyone, it really has restored my faith in human beings. My husband was due to go to the UK today via Holland, but has delayed his trip due to the fuel shortage and blockades. He is replanning his trip next week and will probably have a very special delivery to Leics.......Sasha!!
  20. Good news. My friend arrived today and her first port of call was the SPA. She fell in love with Sasha and Popeye and is looking forward to geting them home. It looks like Sasha will be getting a lift to the UK next week but Popeye will have to wait until his passport is sorted. If there is anyone especially in the Aude/ Ariege area that would consider fostering Popeye whilst his passport is sorted we would love to hear from you. The new owner is happy to fly back periodically and support the foster family, What we are sure about is that Sasha really needs a loving home sooner rather than later, which can be provided and it would be really unfair on Popeye to be left in the SPA on his own without his mother. If anyone can help we would love to hear from you
  21. Yes lets stay positive. The lady is flying over especially to see them and I know she is serious about having them. Quite rightly she wants to see them first before she commits 100% as she looks after her young grand children quite alot. Anyway I'm sure the SPA will be her first port of call when she steps off the plane a week on monday. I'm going to pass the lady's details on to Rowan and then all parties can liaise re vets etc. I will do what I can to help
  22. Have just contacted Rowan re a lady coming over from the Uk to see them. She has seen the photos but wants to see them before she commits. She would have to find someone to dogsit them whilst the passport for Popeye is sorted. Fingers crossed!
  23. Well done, she is lovely and a very very lucky dog
  24. We would love to take this opportunity to say thank you on behalf of all of you out there doing the best for the dogs. It is desparately tough. We would also like to thank all the very kind people that have been following Albi's progress. We can not believe all the "hits" this link has had. So thank you to all of you it has meant a great deal to us. I think it is now time for us to stop updating on this link. But please feel free to email . Thank you once again for all your kind support
