1. Also try the German Railways site. Example below shows Bus to Morlaix then TGV and a try with some bicycle capacity http://reiseauskunft.bahn.de/bin/query2.exe/en?ld=9646&seqnr=2&ident=3z.0607246.1306937375&rt=1&rememberSortType=minDeparture&HWAI=JS!ajax=yes!&HWAI=CONNECTION$C1-0!id=C1-0!HwaiConId=C1-0!HwaiDetailStatus=details!;~CONNECTION$C1-0!HwaiMapStatus=UNDEFINED!HwaiMapNumber=UNDEFINED!HwaiMapSlider=UNDEFINED!HwaiDetailHimMessage=UNDEFINED!;
2. A brief history of Rallycross as below : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rallycross Autofolcar started in France in the 1980s as a low cost motor sport formula. Rules as attached website but relatively high weight and no turbocharging are the key points. Other wise six cars on the grid rather than five and longer events seem to be the main differences.A Rally cross track must have a minimum of two surfaces, sure it used to be three, normally tarmac and grass/dirt. Autofolcar can be dirt only. http://www.autofolcar.com/LeFolCar.php http://www.autofolcar.com/CircuitFiche.php?CirId=6 Le circuit est situé à 6 Km à l'ouest de Mayenne (53), près de la RN12 à Châtillon-sur-Colmont au lieu-dit "La Rousselière".- Longueur : 1200 mètres - Largeur : 16 mètres - Ligne droite de départ : 200 mètres - Terre : 70% - Asphalte : 30% A brief look at the circuit, as links above and below suggests that Mayenne holds both Rallycross and Folcar on the same track http://rallycross.free.fr/ In general rallycross cars are faster and hugely more expensive. There is a single make championship for Dacias. What was the context of the question please ? Ex Scuderia Hysteria and Chess Valley Car Club
3. Turnkey I do not think you will see much change from € 1,200 a square metre. Say € 50,000.
4. France will have completed the switch to TNT = Freeview by November 2011. A PAL TV will work in France but only when connected by SCART to a Digibox, freesat receiver, UK VCR or DVD player.
5. I think it depends on budget and is worth doing a lot of research before choosing a particular model. Costs of headlamp change do vary between nothing, Jaguar X-type headlamps can be adjusted to pass CT to alledgedly over € 3000 Euros Range Rover with Xenon. Certificate of conformity zero from Jaguar UK to a UK address but € 200 from Jaguar France. Malus – surcharge of polluting cars is complex to calculate but should also be taken into account. If you are spending serious money and intend to sell rather than run into the ground keep UK headlamps and plates and sell in UK. I did buy in UK and spent € 10700 all in on a car which was not available in France in similar condition or mileage for less than € 23000. I intend to keep it for at least ten years. We viewed flights to UK, car hire to look at cars etc as part of costs of holiday rather than expenses of car purchase.
6. To buy compression fittings at Bricodepot you need two items . Firstly ‘T’ 90 degree bends etc as first link below. These are sold as 12 X 17 = 3/8 inches , 15 X 21 = 1 / 2 inch and 20 X 27 = 3 / 4 inch. NB the Imperial descriptions are correct http://www.bricodepot.fr/bordeaux/plomberie/cuivre-sanitaire/raccords-visser You then need nuts and olives for the French sized pipes you are going to attach to these fitting. 10 and 12 will attach to 12 X 17 12 and 14 to 15 X 21 And 16 to 20 X 27 If you buy from other places you can get other combination for instance 16 to 15 X 21, and T with odd sizes coming off them http://www.bricodepot.fr/bordeaux/node/472186 If you have not lost the will to live there is a full and frank discussion of UK versus French Plumbing as below : http://www.totalfrance.com/france/forum/viewtopic.php?t=188 Best of luck
7. Unless French insurance law is very different to UK this would be for hire and reward and invalidate the car insurance.
8. The charge for the speedo is relatively cheap but a quick look at Boost / Max Power etc will show that you can obtain replacement cards which stick over the existing dial faces. LHD - I would almost always sell in France. Minimumm insurance extra premium for LHD in France used to be 10%.
9. For questions about freeview I suggest joining : http://notonyourtelly.co.uk/forum/ or search on Satcure. NB The owner/administrator/head honcho of the site is somewhat grumpy and always complains if exact details of location and equipment are not given. On the other hand it is his site.
10.

Point is the speed limits change very frequently and the lorries often obscure the signs indicating a change in the limit so a satnav with the current limit displayed is vital these days especially if you are not in familiar territory.
Are they parked by the signs? :-) If you can't see the signs you are driving too close.
No they are running about 3 feet apart from each other to save fuel.
11. Think mine is a supermarket own brand but appears very similar. Does what it is claimed and running well after four seasons of spliting. Worth building a mount so you can have it on a Workmate or similar when in use.
12. The reclassificaton of crap assets - broadly mortgages of 120 % of value in poor parts of the USA - was pretty easy.
13. Unless you have a SAAB or something else with the handbrake on the front wheels you will strugle to have Frein stationnement Efficacité higher than 23%
14. " Recently, I have bought leaf spring shackle bushes from Portugal, a timing belt kit from Germany, a waterpump and a set of suspension arms from UK all between 30 and 70 % less than the local factors want. These have been for various cars and nothing exotic or rare. Its a bloody sad state of affairs when I can get a timing belt kit for a Peugeot 306 delivered to my door from UK within 3 days for much less than half the price the local supplier sells it for. " I now have a deal with my local Peugeot garage that they will fit what ever I buy provided I supply a second one to them at cost. The 306 may be a special case as prior to the illogical and gutless decision to close Ryton I believe more 306s were built there than in France. Local 'Boost' shop could not believe you can buy and register 406 V6 engined 306 in the UK
15. Short answer get the diagnostics before signing the compromis and paying the deposit. You have almost nil ability to negotiate afterwards. Slightly longer answer you have to have received the letter for the cooling off period to start. If you have paid the deposit weigh up loosing the deposit versus the extra costs you now know about. If you have not paid you are in a stronger position
16. Went to Delhi last month and spent a couple of hours with a RE dealer. Much better sorted than a Hindustani = Morris Oxford with Vauxhall engine but still old technology
17. The reduced rate has only ever been guaranteed for one year at a time. Ithink it has been renewed for at least 8 years but their always seems to be a game of brinkmanship about how late in the yearthe announcement of the continuation is.
18. Normally watch it in France but braced for amazing transltions such as " The famous Italine Rod Race The Thousand Miles "
19. Last kitchen in UK which I scratch built was split level. I am 183 / 6 ft but most of my height is in my legs. Isabel is significantly shorter. May well include a small prep area with lower worksurface next time I build There is a very old politically incorrect joke about the introduction of the original long wheelbase Jaguar XJ6. Basically a visitor to the London Motorshow continues to harrange the salesman that an extra 6 cms in the wheelbase was not very much. Eventually Sir Williams Lyons or Lofty England tire of the monologue and ........
20. You still face the fact that in the UK in order to receive the same amount of cash you paid for the house you typically need an under 5 % increase in prices. In France you need about 17 %.
21. For what it is worth I used to use Mitcham Motors to set up my MG 1300 which would eat Escorts on the Britvic. There is something odd about going past a Mexico with a van rear axle while you worry about the MG pulling 6350 in top
22. I did say kitchen etc. and the total house size is 270 square metres. Check out a French new build show house as examples of how many disjointer you need.
23. Bricomarche is a franchise and as such your contract will be with the individual shop which sold you the machine. For the most part they do not have repair workshops or anybody competant / skilled enough to do repairs. I would either put the thing on a trailer, drive it up to the outlet where you bought it and try and negotiate with it parked outside. Or Talk to your neighbours and see if they can recommend anybody local who knows what they are doing.
24. Forgot to mention that by the time you have worked your way through a properly equipped kitchen etc you will probably need at least another 26 disjointers. Do the plan first and buy the picquets and disjointers early
25. Yes it is the total floor area not the foot print on the ground. When first introduced Nalto reversed live and neutral between back and front meaning you could not easily use them other makes. They now match. Nalto are tableau are in a marginally less strong plastic. Just check they are actually NF stamped. Also some rarer items like 2 amp disjointers are not available in all the cheaper ranges. Apart from that the items have to pass the same mechanical tests so in much the same way as some people drive Audis and others Skodas I think you are mainly paying for the badge.
