  1.   Hi .   I would like to add some exterior lights on the side of my house, do I need to install the cable in gaine or can I just use double insulated cable fixed to the walls, this would be far less obtrusive than 16mm rigid gaine   thanks
  2. Hi All   We have recently had the roof on our 200 year old house in the Tarn overhauled, we have been told by friends that it may be possible to get a tax refund, does any one have any experience of this?   Thank   Tony
  3. Thanks Danny Perhaps I need to look at other ISP's if I just want to go basic
  4. Hi Tim I can not test the line as I do not yet have broadband.  I want a package that will allow about 8 - 10 gb a month usage, I do not expect a connection speed of 8mb, I would think 2 - 5mb more realistic, but I know the distance from exchange will ultimately determine the connection speed.  I can't seen to find a basic package on the Orange site, they all seen to offer more options, which I really don't want
  5. Hi I need to get a broadband package added to my France Telecom phone line. I have been looking at the Orange site and can’t seem to find a basic package for broadband, can anyone please suggest one, I would like at least 8gb / month
  6. Hi We have an old house in the Tarn, many of the rooms have 25mm thick terracotta tiles laid on a soft mortar base on top of the wooden floors. A lot of the floors are un even or have loose tiles. Can any one please advise what the correct material is for re laying these, they do not appear to be “stuck” down. If one is removed there is little or no mortar on the back. I realise that as the wooden floor flexes the base can not be rigid but it needs to be firm enough to support the tile when weight is applied. Are the tiles laid on to a wet mortar ? Any tips / advice gratefully received.
  7. Hi Anton I have read many posts / web searches and remember thinking that 500mm was not far and could not think of the reasoning behind it.  I cann't remember where it was posted
  8. Hello We  have a room with only one power socket that I intend to use as an office so will need to add more. The walls are solid as is the tiled floor, the room above is a bathroom with a tiled floor.  I would like to chase out the wall, not surface mount,  and add a complete new circuit from the distribution box.  The distribution box is in the next room so it will be easy to get the power in, but I have read that to run the gaine from socket to socket you are only allowed  to travel 500 mm horizontally, if this is the case how do I joint the sockets together without surface mounting?   Any ideas / advice would be very much appreciated   Thanks   Tony
