  4. This would be brilliant, as the one thing that has put us off moving over full time. OH had a heart attack in 03, so we have presumed that he wouldnt get private cover (or that it would be very expensive). Did I read somewhere that heart problems are treated free - or was I dreaming
  5. It seemed that an awful lot of the tormentors in the programme appeared very young.... is there adequate training in place for carers caring for people in these places. Carer jobs are 10 a penny in my local job adverts. I would have expected at a cost of £3000+ per week per patient, excellent care and facilities
  6. TV programme on last night, basically if you have something to sell, dealers in 4 seperate rooms who will offer you money, if you say no and leave the room you cannot return so.... last night 2 lads had a 'Banksy' Wall, they paid £30,000 for it in 2009 and they wanted to sell it, the 2nd dealer offered £240,000 for it (the most any Banksy Wall had ever been sold for) and the greedy so and so's said NO...the other dealers offered £38,000 and £75,000 know what I would have done Also on the programme - a hangmans noose for sale (eugh), a nose cone from concorde,Superman Collection etc Wonder if I could sell Hubby lol What would you sell ??
  7. Shocking!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Also the cost according to the programme £3500 per patient per week!

Im in my early fifties and enjoying life.. had a cochlear implant 4 years ago so going from completely deaf to hearing again after 20 odd years has made such a difference to my life. Being 52, I dont feel I have to keep up with fashion, dont really care now what people think of me, they either like me as I am or not... kids are old enough to look after themselves.. have good health and am very content..but thats just me
  10. Plasterboard and Plasterboard screws, tres expensive En Francais
  11. Welcome back. I only belong to this and another forum (completely different topics) and I always think it is a shame that people feel that they cannot have their say without feeling harrassed for doing so and therefore leave the forums. Im sure that some people leave comments that they wouldnt dream of doing face-to-face and they only do so because they can hide behind their computers. Better to say nought than upset someone, thats just me though. Hope you stick around as you have been an asset to this forum, as said, report anything that makes you feel uncomfortable.
  12. Well beautiful, sunny sussex is still here today lol
  13. We have owned our french house for 9 years now. On completion the lady walked us around the hamlet (6 houses) to meet everyone. Everyone has always been most helpful and pleasant.. getting bread for us when we were snowed in.. pumping up tyres etc. Our french neighbour asked hubby if he could collect his moped from another hamlet as it had broken down the previous evening. We have always spokent to them in our 'petit francais' as we say and with gesturing as well we seem to understand each other. This is in the Limousin in a very rural setting.... cant wait to go back again
  14. Yep,but for some reason up on the subject lol
  15. The weber stuff we use is in a yellow/blue bag, last lot we bought was in Toute Faire @ 12 euros for a 25kg sack, Point P was the first lot we bought but dearer 16e a sack. We have used it inside and on the outside. Hubby just mixes it with water, but not a lot, the longer you mix it the wetter it gets.
